No, the car is awesome... Without such an awesome car itself, the whole thing would just not be that interesting to watch. And that’s what made TG awesome... They would make us drool over an old rusty Volvo or Robin Reliant...

That looked like every Top Gear review done in the last 15 years, but with an American accent.

It could be if Clarkson et al would spend more time actually reviewing the fucking cars. Three automotive journalists who are all genuinely remarkably gifted in explaining what makes a car great or awful, yet most of the car reviews in GT consist of why X car is or isn’t willing to drift and why that makes X car great/awful.

Exactly. I watched the South America special drooling over first gen Range Rovers, FJ40s, and weird old Suzuki trucks.

I don’t know. I still think Matt LeBlanc needs a nap.

The show has a real shot with the new lineup of good Chris, Rory and older Joey from friends who loves cars. And Sabine is ok too.

Ya Top Gear has the right ingredients now and if it doesn’t try too hard should be great and a true car show.

Agree I loved the old Top Gear travel specials- but now it feels that is more of the show than the cars.

Never bothered watching enough of the ‘new’ top gear when it was on to see this episode, but I was very impressed. This gives me hope for the next series

Agree. Harris and Rory were excellent, and Matt was good when away from Evans and not reading from one of the awful studio scripts. I really think these three have to potential to be just as good as the Holy Trinity.

as good perhaps, but it’ll be different. I like having 2 excellent car shows
